When an owner purchased a new Z8, BMW provided a hardcover, cloth-bound coffee table book wrapped in a swatch of the original leather upholstery and housed in a high-end presentation box. What made these books iconic among collectors were these key details:
VIN & Spec Matched: The front cover features a custom metallic plate/label stamped with the vehicle's specific Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), exact paint color, and interior specification.
Factory Build Photos: Inside, the book chronicles the history and design of the Z8, but it also includes photos documenting the individual roadster at the factory.
Leather/Alcantara Binding & Case: The book was wrapped in a leather or Alcantara sleeve embossed with "Z8" and nestled into a heavy presentation box.
