Due to popular demand, the very first ALPINA gear knob is being reissued 50 years after its development. Precisely according to the specifications of the original design with item number 23 10 001, dated March 23, 1968, the gear knob—or shift knob, as it was called back then—is manufactured to the highest quality standards from the finest Amazakoue wood.
Each gear knob is made entirely from a single piece of wood. After a six-week drying process in the Allgäu region, the Amazakoue wood is shaped, finished, and painted in more than 15 steps. The ALPINA logo and mounting insert are then installed at the ALPINA factory in Buchloe. Drivers of classic car models can thus enjoy a stylish replacement part in original quality. This knob is available in a high gloss finish, semi-gloss finish, and silky matte finish.
Please note - The high gloss and semi-gloss gear shift knobs are pluggable, but the silky matte is a screw mount.
